Obituary for Al-Jarod Calik Stith

Al-Jarod Calik Stith, known as Stitch, was born on April 20, 1984 to Lisa Tieeisha Stith and John Raheem Hall. He was the first and only boy born to his mother and he was truly her Miracle Child, as he was born weighing less than two pounds. Al-Jarod was also loved and cared for many years by his stepfather, Robert “Shock” Johnson, who did so much for him.

Al-Jarod was educated in the Newark Public School system. He attended 18th Avenue Elementary School and then proceeded on to Malcolm X. Shabazz High School, where he received his high school diploma.

Al-Jarod attended Fruitful Delivery Ministry Baptist Church. He always carried his Bible and kept it close to him. Inside the Bible he highlighted Psalm 51. He always knew that God was his Protector.

Al-Jarod grew up in his favorite two neighborhoods, Pennington Court and Little Bricks. He was loved by everybody. He worked at Pathmark for many years. He was the type of man to go to work even if he was sick. He would walk to work if he did not have bus fare. Before his passing he currently worked for Amazon in Carteret, NJ. He was tired but yet still managed to go to work, putting his health to the side. He would go to the store for everybody in the neighborhood. You gave Stitch a job to do and he was going to do it, just to make that dollar for something to drink.

Al-Jarod was a humble guy. He was a good guy that loved his family and friends. He never ever disrespected a soul. He made sure he spoke and gave you a smile and a hug, followed by “Are you good?”.

Al-Jarod was preceded in death by: his grandmother, Pauline Hall; great grandmother, Bobbie Lee Jones; grandfather; Willie Stith Sr.; three uncles, Willie Stith Jr., Gregory Stith and Michael Davis; and one cousin, Willie “Wali” Stith III.

Al-Jarod leaves to cherish his loving memory: his parents, Lisa Stith and John Hall; his grandmother, Frances Stith who he loved very much; his sisters, Tameekah Stith, Keemah Stuckey, Tieeisha Stith and Tarakah Stith; his aunts, Ellen Jones, Brenda Lynch, Roslyn Davis, Michelle Stith, Shakina Stith and Denise Stith; uncles, Darnell Stith and Sean Stith; his nieces and nephews, Julien Jamison, Ah’Jayah Stith, Arie Pierce, Dayce Greene, Eliana Johnson and Na’Vayah Stith; along with all of his cousins he loved very much, and a host of other family members and friends. Fly high, my love, fly HIGH!
