Obituary for Sharnette Cynthia Dicks

“Shy’s Life Story”

The battle has been fought. Sharnette was a strong and brave-hearted woman. Her victory was won. She gained her crown of glory and wings to fly high with God. She endured many hardships like a good soldier in God’s Army; a Five Star General. She kept her faith in God and didn’t let go.

Born December 10, 1988, in Newark, New Jersey, her mother, Ms. Christine Dicks, was a loving mother. She attended Babyland Preschool, then Alexander St. School, followed by East Orange High School, where she proudly graduated. She later moved to Haines City, Florida, where she became employed as a Driver until her health slowed her down.

Sharnette served the Lord with all her heart. She was a member of New Beulah Baptist Shurch in Haines City, Florida, where her mission was a Drummer. “Shy”, as most knew her, also loved her family, sports, helping others, and keeping all her lil’ family members. She was very humble, quiet, and a sweet and beautiful person.

God took her by the hands on May 24, 2018, from her residence in Haines City, Florida, and then led her to unite with her beloved mother; Christine Dicks; and grandparents, Reverend Wesley Dicks, Elder Ewell Harris, Barbara Biassey, and Earl Robinson.

Fond and loving memories will forever linger in the hearts and minds of her loving family: Granma Marretta Harris; two sister, Chrystal Dicks, and Habbakkuk Hendrix (Fred Jr.); aunts, Andrena Lewis, Evangelist Lorretta Wiliams, Beverly Mosley, Syedeia Lewis, and Sabrina Biassy; uncles, Wesley Dicks, Jr., and Morris Mosley; a favorite great-aunt, Barbara Reed; cousins, Al-JaQuanLewsi, Jason Dicks, Amanda Dicks, Monique Mosley, Yasmeen, Mariah, Dezmariah, Zakiya, Destiny, Trayvon, Hirum, Henry Williams, Mary Williams, Donald Wiliams, Rajia Gilbreath, NaQuesha Williams, Tyler Gilbreath, Al-Delyn Williams, Shamir Williams, Makayla Williams, Donayla Williams, Alvin Lewis, Barshay Williams, Beverly Lewis, Toby Lewis, Jr., Hari, Loni, Iminayla Lewis, Jordan Beckley, and Zah; nephew, Jeremiah Hendrix; a dear friend, T’Angela McDonald; a special neighbor and father figure, Jonathan Harvey; and a host of extended family members and sorrowing friends, all of whom will miss her presence and loved her.
