Obituary for Lucy C. Hill

Lucy C. Hill was born in Washington, North Carolina on November 10, 1936. She was the daughter of Alma McDaniel and James Baker. Lucy spent most of her life traveling and residing in Newark, New Jersey. Lucy had many accomplishments. She worked as a successful real estate agent in Seattle, Washington for several years. She served on the Newark City Council. She worked as the treasurer of the Sophisticated Ladies and Gents Club, a very prominent group that did much for the community of Newark New Jersey. She also served on the board of her living facility, located at 1 Court Street, Newark, New Jersey. Lucy served as a military wife for 17 years. Some of her most favorite and memorable accomplishments were working with the City of Newark as a poll worker, working for the city elections, and also working as a pre-school teacher in the city of Newark.

Lucy was most proud of her family, whom she leaves behind. She is survived by one sister, Pat McDaniel. She is survived by four children: Jacqueline Henry of Toledo, Ohio, James Hill, Jr. (Michelle) of Davie, Florida, Tanya Alston (Maury) of Orlando, FL, and Charles Hill (Jenilla) of Newark, New Jersey. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Evon Henry, Stephanie Hill, Desmond Hill, Mark Henry, Tonisha Henry, Juan Hill, Krystle Ulysses, Markiea Edwards, Anthony Hill, R’Quan Hill, Azaria Hill AND Breanna Hill. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
