Obituary for Douglas Davis

Douglas MacArthur Davis was born on April 6, 1942, in Hemingway, South Carolina, to the late
Betsey and Sam Davis. He was educated at Battery Park School, in Hemingway.

Douglas, aka Doug, aka Mooney, aka Mac, transitioned from Hemingway to Middletown
Connecticut, where he married Farina Moses in 1965 and to that union had one son Rodney
Davis. After moving to New Jersey in the 1970’s, he later had his second son Terrance (Sandra) Brown.

Douglas was employed for many years at General Motors until his back injury. In his early
years he was an Entrepreneur. He owned an auto repair shop in Connecticut for many years.
One of his passions was working on cars and you could always find him working on someone’s car when he was no longer able to work for GM. His second passion was fishing. He loved deep seafishing with friends and his favorite fishing partners, his son Terrance and his cousin Willie.

Doug had a tremendous love for fishing. He often went fishing with his family and friends.
Doug loved the sports and would definitely entertain any conversation.

Doug was head strong, and fought a good fight with his independence during the end of his
sickness. He never gave up on life and believed, even when no one else believed, no one
knew better than him what was best for him. He never gave up.
